The Role
We're hiring a Consultant or Senior Consultant to join our growing team in a unique hybrid role that splits focus between business development (70%) and client delivery (30%). This is an opportunity for a hungry, ambitious professional who wants to build relationships, win business, and deliver outstanding client work—all while learning from experienced leaders and shaping your own practice.
Primary Responsibilities
Business Development (70%)
Generate new leads and manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to close
Book and coordinate client meetings for the Founders
Write compelling proposals that showcase Luminate's unique value proposition
Join client pitches alongside leadership, learning consultative selling techniques
Develop creative approaches to objection handling and problem-solving
Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline using our CRM and sales enablement tools
Network strategically within the HR/TA community to identify opportunities
Travel to meet clients and prospects as needed
Meet KPIs, including meetings booked, conversion rates, and revenue targets
Client Delivery (30%)
Support existing clients across a variety of challenging assignments, including talent mapping, talent pipelining, confidential searches, organisational risk identification, live recruitment support, and TA team bandwidth assistance
Lead end-to-end delivery on projects you win
Support workstream leads on existing client projects with responsibilities varying week-to-week based on client needs
Engage in both research-intensive work and client-facing activities
Leverage your recruitment/TA expertise to deliver best-in-class talent management solutions
Use Luminate's proprietary technology to enhance consulting effectiveness
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience
2-5 years of experience in recruitment and/or talent acquisition (this is non-negotiable; you need to understand the TA/recruitment landscape and how to partner effectively with these professionals)
Demonstrable experience or strong familiarity with sales pipeline management and forecasting
Proficiency with LinkedIn for networking and lead generation
Skills & Attributes
Excellent communication skills across written proposals, client presentations, and day-to-day interactions
Consultative approach to both selling and delivery, you listen first, then solve
Natural problem-solver who thinks creatively and brings fresh ideas to the table
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to overcome objections thoughtfully
Outgoing, bubbly personality with a genuine passion for making clients happy
Self-motivated and comfortable with autonomy and accountability
Comfortable with ambiguity and adapting to changing client needs week-to-week
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who is hungry to take on responsibility and deliver results. You'll be given significant autonomy to execute on business development strategies while receiving support and mentorship from our leadership team. You should be excited about the 70/30 split because you understand that working on client delivery makes you a more effective salesperson, and you'll learn our services inside-out by delivering them yourself.
What We Offer
Competitive compensation package: Base salary plus commission paid biannually upon successful achievement of targets (specific targets discussed during interview process)
Complete remote flexibility after successful 6-month probation (initial onboarding requires 3 days/week in our London office)
Best-in-class tech stack: CRM, LinkedIn licenses, outbound engagement and enrichment tools, and all necessary hardware—we continuously review and update our technology to stay ahead of the competition
Clear career progression: Continuous pathway to managing your own practice and building your own team within 2-3 years
Learning environment: Work directly with Founders on high-stakes pitches and strategic accounts
Industry agnostic opportunities: While we predominantly work with HR/TA functions, we partner with businesses of all sizes across all industries—and we're open to you defining a target market that aligns with your interests and network
The Luminate Difference
We're not a traditional consultancy or recruitment firm. We've built proprietary technology that empowers our consulting work, enabling us to deliver faster, smarter, and more strategically for our clients. We're industry agnostic but have deep expertise in the talent space. Most importantly, we measure success by one metric: do our clients keep coming back? If you're tired of the status quo in recruitment and talent acquisition, and you want to be part of a team that's doing things differently, we want to hear from you.

Interested candidates should be prepared to discuss:
